Berliner Tor Campus

The Berliner Tor Campus is HAW Hamburg’s main campus. It is home to the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science and the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. The faculties and their departments have their own libraries, laboratories and computer labs on campus. There is a large cafeteria and various cafes, as well as a student hall of residence. Another hall of residence is located roughly seven minutes away by foot.

The university’s central administration and the Student Center, which includes the Student Admissions and Registration Office, the Student Counselling Team and the International Office, are also located at this campus.

Exercise enthusiasts can use the university’s own fitness studio and sign up for the university’s sports courses. The Alster Schwimmhalle, which has a 50 metre pool, is also nearby.

 

Bergedorf Campus

The Faculty of Life Sciences is located at the Bergedorf Campus. The faculty has its own library, a cafeteria and cafes, plus leisure areas with lounge chairs, foosball tables and sun decks.

A large student hall of residence is two S-Bahn (metro) stations away in Allermöhe, and the Hamburg city centre is a 20-minute S-Bahn ride away.

Hamburg Art and Media Campus

HAW Hamburg’s Faculty of Design, Media and Information is represented together with other media professionals from the city at the Hamburg Art and Media Campus, which is located at the site of the former Finkenau Women’s Hospital.

Design students have access to studios and numerous labs and workshops. Film students can use a modern production lab and sound studio where they can create their own audio and video projects. The campus has a cafeteria and lots of inviting spots for creative breaks.

The Eilbek Canal is only a few minutes away by foot, and the Alster is a short bike ride away.

Armgartstraße Campus

The Armgartstraße Campus is home to the Faculty of Design, Media and Information, which offers degree courses in fashion, costume and textile design. It has studios and sewing rooms and offers plenty of space for creativity.

The university building has a cafeteria and a cafe for quick coffee breaks. The Armgartstraße hall of residence, run by Studierendenwerk Hamburg, is right next door and offers rooms for students.

Between lectures students can sit in the beautiful and expansive campus garden or walk to the Alster.
