Caracas decided to leave his stable life to take a plunge into the fascinating career path of Information and Engineering. Since Information Engineering is primarily taken by international students, this has enabled him to meet students from other parts of the world, listen to their stories and experience a bit of their culture and way of thinking.
Caracas wishes that he would be able to work in a company that combines both his healthcare background, as well as his current field of study. It would also be his dream to be able to work online, so he could spend more time with his family back home in the Philippines.
His childhood ambition was to be a cartoonist since he watched a lot of Anime films when he was a kid. This eventually evolved into his becoming a computer game designer. His nursing background contributed a lot in giving him a wide range of knowledge, skills and experiences.
Since he started working, he took it upon himself, to send financial support to his family back home. Upon getting enrolled at the HAW Hamburg, he reduced his working time and got his job contract changed to that of a working student. The Deutschlandstipendium helps him to fill up the financial gap and it makes him worry less. He can also continue to give financial aid to his loved ones in the Philippines.
Caracas is originally from Manila, Philippines. He relocated to Hamburg in 2016 in order to work here as a nurse before he decided to start studying here. Beside his studies, he frequently attends Spanish and Japanese language lessons both of which are taught in German. In his free time, he usually watches Anime films.
Caracas wishes to delve more into his current field of study, as well as to improve both his Spanish and Japanese language competencies. He wishes he had more time for studies, leisure and for his family. He hopes to get the most out of this bachelor degree by taking steps slowly and getting both positive and negative experiences in order to equip him with the knowledge and practice which will enable him to turn his dreams into reality.
