49th Parallel is a new quarterly electronic journal which aims to promote interdisciplinary study of the North American continent in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The editors seek contributions from disciplines including history, politics, international relations, cultural studies, literature, cultural geography, media studies and sociology. The journal is run by postgraduate students, and aims to promote the work of postgraduates alongside that of more established scholars.
