Quantitative Methods Workshop
Taking a statistical look at current economic issues
As part of the Multinational Enterprises and the Global Economy course taught by Prof. Dr. Natalia Ribberink as part of the International Business M.Sc. degree, an annual workshop on Quantitative Methods is offered in partnership with the University of Rhode Island (URI), USA. Since 2016, the workshop has been held by Prof. Dr. Natallia Katenka from the Computer Science and Statistics Department at URI (USA) in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Ribberink and Jan-Hendrik Schünemann in Hamburg, Germany, to introduce Master's students to the methods of quantitative data analysis for business and the use of the statistical software R in connection with current topics in business. The student research projects initiated during the workshop have resulted in several publications that have been presented and published at international academic (scientific) conferences.
Scientific publications
After participating in the workshop, interested students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the topic in the context of a Master's thesis. Frequently, the findings generated have already been presented at a conference or have been published.
