Talent Management Day
Research days
The Department of Economics at HAW Hamburg has been cooperating with Russian partner universities on the topic of talent management since 2015 – starting with the Saint Petersburg State University Graduate School of Management, and later with the Higher School of Economics Moscow (HSE). Several successful research days on the topic of talent and diversity management have been held as part of the long-standing collaboration, and there have also been joint publications and conference contributions. The research days are designed as a combination of thematic student research projects, guest lectures and discussion forums and are open to all interested students in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. Since 2017, they have been held annually during the winter semester in Hamburg. During the event, student research projects are presented and participants also have the opportunity to to ask questions of and learn from experts from academics and the professional realm.

Report from 2017

Already for the second time, the Research Day of the Department of Economics of HAW, co-supported by the Equal Opportunities Commission, with the title "Gender inclusion in talent management practices in cross-country comparison" successfully took place on 10.12.2018 with active participation of students.
The day started with an introductory presentation by Ms. Ribberink and Mr. Schünemann on current trends related to gender equality and talent management in social media and search behavior over the last years. This was able to relate to the 2017 Reasearch Day data and better illustrate and discuss the changes over the past year.
The following was a presentation by Prof. Anna Veselova from the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg State University. She first presented her findings on her topic "Gender-driven Talent Management in Emerging Markets: New Challenges for Governments, Firms and Managers", followed by a lively discussion with HAW students on the topic.
Afterwards, the AIM students of HAW were allowed to show what they had worked on during the last semester. First, it was the turn of the participants of the German American International Workshop 2018. In several presentations, the students presented their findings on differences in talent management approaches between Germany and the United States. Particularly creative - students who are currently completing a semester abroad helped out in the form of video recordings. The day concluded with additional selected presentations from Ms. Ribberink's lecture and a poster conference that followed. Congratulations to Ms. Katharina Ehlers and Ms. Marit Holler for their outstanding performance and for winning the Best Poster Award.
Results of the Talent Management Day 2019 were then successfully presented at the EIBA conference in Poznan.
