Applied studies – targeted teaching

Housed at the Hamburg Art and Media Campus and the Armgartstraße Campus, the Faculty of Design, Media and Information offers interdisciplinary studies and practice-oriented research. Its modern media facilities and equipment provide students with a real-world learning environment.

The course offerings comprise a total of eight Bachelor’s and eight Master’s degree courses in the areas of design, media technology and information. This bundling of creative and applied degree courses covering various mediums is unique in Hamburg and enables interdisciplinary project work between students from the various subject areas. In addition, the faculty collaborates with numerous partners working in the professional realm and cooperates regularly with other universities and teaching institutions.

The subject-specific curricula and the diverse selection of courses mean that students have access to a varied teaching programme. The majority of the professors and lecturers have worked as professionals in their respective fields and teach with a view to the future. The goal of each degree course is students' successful transition from their studies to the working world.
