The Faculty of Life Sciences offers nine Bachelor's degree courses and nine Master's degree courses. English is the language of instruction in seven of the Master's degree courses. Students in the international European Master of Medical Technology and Healthcare Business (EMMaH) study not only at HAW Hamburg but also in Lille, France at the Université de Lille - Faculté Ingénierie et Management de la Santé and in Porto, Portugal at the Instituto Polytecnico do Porto-Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde do Porto.

The Bachelor's degree courses in hazard control, health sciences, medical technology, nutrition and home economics, and rescue engineering as well as the Master’s degree courses in biomedical engineering, health sciences and public health are also offered part-time. The part-time degree courses are not separate offers, but individualised extended versions of the original courses. The examination and study regulations for the respective full-time degree courses apply. Two part-time semesters are counted as one subject semester and two university semesters. The student advisors in the departments are the contact people for individual study planning.

The Bachelor's degree in process engineering is also offered as a cooperative degree programme.

The Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering is offered in cooperation with the University of Hamburg. The Master’s degree in industrial engineering is offered with an additional partner, the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg. The University of Hamburg is also where some of the specialist training to become a trades teacher or a teacher in the areas of technology, home economics and nutrition takes place. All applications are submitted to the University of Hamburg.
