Symposium on Innovation in the Circularity of Plastic Materials

The traditional "take-make-dispose" model of plastic production is unsustainable. With low recycling rates and increasing environmental challenges, it’s time to rethink how we use and reuse plastics. Circularity – keeping materials in use, reducing waste, and minimizing resource consumption – is the key to combating pollution, conserving resources, and supporting a sustainable future.

From advancements in chemical recycling that convert plastics into their basic monomers to new approaches in mechanical recycling techniques, innovation is at the heart of this transition. This symposium aims to showcase these advancements and inspire new ideas to revolutionize the lifecycle of plastics.

Join us in Kaunas, Lithuania, on 20th May 2025, for a dynamic gathering of researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators. This symposium will feature:

Organized in collaboration with the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programmeproject BALTIPLAST, the symposium supports efforts to reduce single-use plastic waste and implement solutions for a circular economy in the Baltic Sea region.
 

We’re inviting submissions for abstracts and proposals to share innovative ideas, research, and practical solutions. Selected papers will be published in a prestigious Springer Nature volume titled Innovation in the Circularity of Plastic Materials.
