Each year, international students join the Departments of Design, Media Technology and Information at HAW Hamburg, expanding their academic journey in beautiful Hamburg.

To ensure a smooth start, all incoming students go through a central onboarding process organized by the International Office. This includes important information on bureaucracy, administration, and participation in the Welcome Weeks, which help students settle in both academically and socially. Furthermore, the HAW Hamburg offers various central support services, including psychological counseling, assistance for students with disabilities, financial aid for emergencies, and social counseling. At the Faculty of Design, Media and Information, we focus on academic onboarding, helping students with learning agreements, course selection, timetables, and other study-related matters. Additionally, students will receive a faculty-specific Study Guide at the appropriate time, along with a campus tour to help you familiarize with your new academic environment.
